Help with unknown insect
Hi could anyone please identify this insect that looks similar to a bee but much larger and hairy. approx body of 3cm x 1 cm.

I have taken 2 pictures but unfortunately they are not very clear.

Afternoon Alan, and welcome to WAB!

It looks like one of our Red-tailed Bumblebees, and I'd say the size indicates a queen.
