A few bug & butterfly photos to share.

Hi there. I just thought I'd share a few photos that I've taken in the last week whilst out recording reptiles.

I think I've got the ID correct for each:

Comma Butterfly

Peacock Butterfly

Ground Beetle - AbaxParallelepipedus (confirmed)

Violet Ground Beetle

All taken with my Canon 40D, Canon 580ex and Canon 100mm Macro 2.8L. Thanks for looking. Best regards,

I can confirm the butterflies are correct, and the beetles are Ground Beetles but I'm not good enough to ID exact species.

the violet ground beetle is Carabus problematicus

It certainly lived up to its name then when I tried to take its photo. My friend was holding that log it's sitting on. As the beetle didn't stay still for one second my friend was having to slowly rotate the log as the beetle walked round it. I had to wait for him to come round again and snap him quickly!
