| | | Pipiza needs sympathetic identification My first interesting specimen of the year - and it's a tricky family.
In my S. Devon garden today. About 10 or 12 mm overall. I do have other photos but it was windy; so this one looks the most useful.
I am leaning towards Pipiza noctiluca but I'm not very confident of this confusing family.
I have also asked this on the Hoverfly Recording Scheme. So let's see who can do it first!
ps. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up as Pipiza sp. |

| | | Re: Pipiza needs sympathetic identification I would go with Pipiza noctiluca too!
