Unitentified "aphid-like" insect
I have no idea what this is. Can anyone help. Aphid size and from a distance thats what they appeared to be. They were on the leaf buds of a potted Acer.

It is an aphid (apterous) but I wouldn't like to say which.

I think it's a Periphyllus species, though I can't say which. There are several that feed on maples.
