| | [ID] Ladybird Afternoon all,
I found this Ladybird on my bag today; I'm at a bit of a loss as to which it is. Two or Ten-spot, or other? 23/03/2011 Maroon Ladybird A little smaller than a Seven-spot
Thanks for looking!
Take care, Jason |

| | | Re: [ID] Ladybird Not the greatest of photos but I think it's an Adalia decempunctata decempustulata form which has not fully coloured. 10-spots may be very slow to gain full colour and, indeed, may sometimes not achieve it at all. This sounds a bit large for a ten-spot but I can think of nothing else: the only alternative, really, would be an exotic Calvia. but I think not .....

| | | Re: [ID] Ladybird I still have the specimen! I was collecting my first couple of Andrena at the time. I'll get some better photographs, and measurements soon. |

| | | Re: [ID] Ladybird I agree with Paul on this, its Adalia decempunctata f.decempustulata , they can be hugely variable, some often dont get as dark as typical decempustulata. Its common for them to be this brown/ginger colour. |

| | | Re: [ID] Ladybird Adalia decempunctata, yes. I don't like the forma names, because they are worth nothing. But if one likes it it is ok.
Regards
Klaas
