| | E.H.M.pupa care help needed new member 1st post Have read prevoius threads and need help.Found pupa just under bark mulch& decided with Ispots help to have a go.So I dug it up from original space & have it in glass vase! about 10insx5ins approx with cover with 2 decent air holes. In safe cool spot.Iput more bark mulch in and the pupa is a couplle of inches under( sorry metric is not the same for me.)The mulch is quite damp and is not drying out so I will get a mesh covering .Hope this will be rodent proof or I can move it into our cool garage. Is the pupa too deep? Iwill be away for 5days mid May so will rig up a safe exit area.We are on the south coast of I.O.Wight so have lots of sun &heat compared to some parts so maybe it will hatch while we are away.If I need to readjust pupa level maybe it coulld go to one side so I can see if it has gone on our return.Sorry this is long limited time on computer so need to get it all down. |

| | | Re: E.H.M.pupa care help needed new member 1st post Don't worry too much about mulch depth, adult will manage. Do worry about it being in a cool sheltered place. Mostly worry that there are places for the adult moth to climb up and hang to expand its wings. And please remember to ask a friend or neighbour to check it while you are away! |

| | | Re: E.H.M.pupa care help needed new member 1st post Not daft at all! EHM may emerge anytime, though emergence varies between moth species. Please let us know what happens. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
