Can't make my mind up on this one, my minds a bit cloudy today after an hard day yesterday.
I can't seem to decide if it is either Strigamia crassipes (which i find quite often), or Geophilus carpophagus (which i have yet to see in a sense).
G. carpophagus and G. easoni have recently been separated. G. carpophagus is longer with (up to 60mm) 51-57 pairs of legs. G. easoni is shorter with (up to 40mm) 47-51 pairs of legs.
S. crassipes (up to 50mm) will have about 49-53 pairs of legs. There will be other differences between these suggested species, most will be hidden from view in the photo.
I believe the one in your photo has 54 pairs of legs.
I found my first G. easoni a couple of weeks ago, but i foolishly took no photos to help with comparison.
I will take a closer look later, when i wake up a bit lol.
Regards Chris... | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
