Tiny beetle ~2.5mm walking up my wall on 6th March.
Is this Kateretidae?

No, this is Staphylinidae. I'm not good enough in Staphylinidae, so nothing more of me and ID.

Thanks Klaas! I had one late last year which was similar! I put that under Staphylinidae and that was my original thought! It was smaller though at ~1.5mm, I gave it a name of Proteinus brachypterus. Looking at that one on the WCG it doesn't appear to have hairs so it's probably Megarthrus depressus too.  One was on the same wall, the other not too far away by a rotting fungus but that one I thought was more like 2mm. I don't think I put them here for ID so maybe I should.
