I think it may be the Lomghorn Beetle Clytus arietis, I am not sure if this is a British species but it is defiantly European and I believe sometimes emerges from pupa that have reached this country in imported timber.
If I am wrong I am sure someone with more knowledge will be along soon.

Clytus arietis looks correct. This is a common beetle here, one I see every year. http://www.thewcg.org.uk/cerambycidae/0134G.htm
