| | | Caused by Gall Wasp? Found these today in a nature reserve. Both around 3-5 cms long, one on a bramble stem, the other on Scabious, or possibly Knapweed.
Am I correct in assuming they are initially caused by a type of Gall Wasp, and the holes are grub exit holes? Would the same insect be responsible for both items in the picture? |

| | | Re: Caused by Gall Wasp? Jennie, that's a nice find: it's not particularly common, although it's distribution is clumped. It seems to be more frequent (or easier to find) on Dewberry Rubus caesius.
