Tiny fly on crocus requires ID help

This tiny (probably around 5 mm) fly was feeding on a crocus.

It does appear slightly similar to the Nematine Sawfly which Emziccle posted recently; except for the lack of antennae.

I'm somewhat confused over which direction to start looking for an identification. So any suggestions, please.

I agree with Jason, although my knowledge of this family of flies is limited.

Yes, that appears to be a rather tricky looking family.

The best match that I can find so far is Chlorops sp.

I will try to look a bit deeper but if I can definitely say Chlorops that will probably count as a success. Otherwise Chloropidae will do.
