Bumble Bee

Taking photographs of birds today when I noticed this land on one of the feeders. Is it a bit early too be seeing these.
As you can imagine this is quite a heavy crop.

A queeb Bombus terrestris Dai. They will start coming out on warmer days now, though I'm sure some perish as they don't find enough sustenance.

In recent years this species did have functional colonies through the winter in sheltered parts of the south- certainly in London, but after the severe weather last December I've seen hardly any; other years there's been much activity on my Mahonia + Clematis cirrhosa.

Its been a warm day here in West Wales, I expect the warm day got her out of bed, lovely to see them returning, but a little bit early as not much food about for them, lovely picture. Pauline.
