bark fly ID
Hello,
this about 2 mm long psocid crawled around over a pile of firewood in our woodshed last month.


Any ideas what species it is?

Hello Adam,

It looks rather like an Ectopsocus species - a choice of two species, briggsi and petersi. They are seperated by the intensity of the markings near the rear wing margins. Common, and active over most of the winter.

The comparatively prominant eyes suggests male to me; females' are usually smaller and darker.
