| | | massive wasp hi can someone help. i have seen a wasp type thing a few times but it is huge. its not a horntail and i cannot find it on the internet. its about four inches long bright yellow with light brown stripes and eyes, its sting is about an inch long and quite thick. it is very aggressive and i dont hang around to take photos. it is very wasplike but with long yellow legs. ill try and sketch it and post it. i hit one with a cricket bat once in self defence and it just got back up. |

| | | Re: massive wasp Yes a photo or sketch would help. No British wasp is that large or aggressive! |

| | | Re: massive wasp You say its not a horntail but this is all I can think of from your discription though this is harmless and not aggressive in any way.. |

| | Re: massive wasp Sorry i havent been online my PC blew up so my access is limited to the local library. I dont know what to make of the beastie. I am on it with the sketch and will post it tomorrow with a bit of luck. I have never heard of anyone seeing one of these until a few weeks ago when someone I asked said he had seen it too. It would appear it is local to Ripon where I live.
I looked at your Horntail Kayleigh but it is nothing like that. |
