| | | ID please Another sitting in my files, one of the Heteroptera methinks. I cant figure which species this is in my guide, very plain looking could be at a different stage? Also anyone know the chap next to it too? Genus level is fine thanks if possible. Taken Northampton back in the summer.
Many thanks |

| | | Re: ID please These are always a bit tricky and require some really good sharp close up photos for a definite ID. But there appears to be a narrow faint dark line at the start of the pronotum which suggests a Common Green Capsid (Lygocoris pabulinus) to me.
But I'm definitely not an expert with this family so that is just a suggestion. |

| | | Re: ID please Thank you Geoff. Lygocoris pabulinus does fit on further research, obviously difficult from a couple of bad photographs but these were taken before I was a bit more photo savvy. It is my goal this year to find and picture more bugs and at least try to group them in the correct family and at least find the correct genus (as best I can without microscopic examination), especially as I am a student in countryside and wildlife management. Currently looking at Chinery's Insects of Britain and Western Europe, seems a good book. Expect more pics from me on inverts throughout the year Many thanks again. |

| | | Re: ID please Evening Johnny,
Behind pabulinus to the left is probably Plagiognathus arbustorum, and on the head of the thistley-thing is a female Picture-winged Fly - nice picture!
Take care, Jason | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
