Ivy flowers still buzzing with C. hederae today - almost all large and baggy-legged with pollen, but just one or two looking much smaller and making me wonder if there cld still be any males around? Some kind person with a practised eye might be kind and say if this one, for example, cld be male - given it was much smaller... Thanks for any help.  |

| | | Re: Cld male Colletes hederae still be about? Well, as far as I can see, the antennae appear to have 13 segments which makes it male; at least on the photo which clearly shows the antennae.
But best wait for someone who is more practiced at segment counting. After looking for a while I find they all tend to merge together! |
