Aphid? on disc for ID
Saw this on a bush outside my window at work [Cowley, Middx]

I am guessing some kind of Aphid, but what is the "disc" thing its sitting on ?

The aphid looks like a sycamore aphid, Drepanosiphum platanoidis.

It's been parasitised - the disc thing is the coccon of its wasp parasite. Possibly Praon species but I think other wasps produce similar coccoons.

Not the first picture on here and even I saw one in the summer. Are they becoming numerous or was this a good year? For the parasitoid, I mean, not the aphid!
