| | | Can you identify our little visitors? Please could you give me an Id for the creature in the attached photos (apologies for the low quality!!). They're all of the same bug. The scale is a cm builders tape measure.
We seem to be having an invasion of these little creatures. We have found them in most rooms of the house, but they seem to particularly like the kitchen cupboards ... which is freaking out Mrs. Any info would be appreciated.
If it helps, we live in Lancashire, near Preston.
Thanks in advance. |

| | | Re: Can you identify our little visitors? I agree with Kayleigh. These look like the larvae of the carpet beetle. |

This is one of the adult beetles from the Gallery. The larvae are sometimes called 'wooly bears' - not very cuddlesome tho. As Kayleigh says Carpet beetles so-called because they can damage household textiles. |

| | | Re: Can you identify our little visitors? Not certain but I think they are Carpet Beetle larvae (larder beetle, hide or leather beetles) Fam. Dermestidae Not at all certain of the species, someone else will know.
They, if they are what I think, like to feed on animal protein based products.
Insecticides containing permethrin, bifenthrin, deltamethrin, tralomethrin will shift 'em. Clean out the cupboards with NON lint cloth, as they will find lint tasty too.
Just noticed, wor Kayleigh beat me to it Go on Lass!
