| | Need Grasshopper ID Hi i am doing a school project and need an ID in this grasshopper This is the only pic i have got of it but i think it had a yellow belly. |

| | | Re: Need Grasshopper ID I am pretty certain that this is a male Dark Bush-cricket (Pholidoptera griseoaptera). Only if it was photographed ouside Britain might it be another species.
I ought to have said that bush-crickets and grasshoppers are closely related. Grasshoppers have short antennae, bush-crickets have long thread-like antennae, as this one does.
