| | | HELP!!! Huge Hornet in my troursers I was just doing the ironing and my trourser leg started buzzing! I stepped back moved them and see a huge hornet like thing crawling up the leg. It is about two inches in length and that was all I see before I run out of the laundry, shut the door and cringed. Poped my head in but can't see it. The irons got automatic cut off. Can somone tell me what to do when I can muster up the courage PLEEAASSE! |

They are harmless and won't sting unless having to seriously defend themselves, I have had one inside on a couple of occasions at night as they are attracted to light. Yes they sound really scary when buzzing around but they are not a vicious creature, rather gentle in fact.
Take a deep breath, go slowly, if you can manage to open a window and it goes to the window it might find it's way out with a bit of gentle persuasion using something like a magazine to gently guide it but don't swipe! Or use a large cup or jar.
It will be wanting to feed I should think, I see one on the Ivy and had one on the wall by the door last night when I had the outside light on. It was cold so it was barely moving.

| | | Re: HELP!!! Huge Hornet in my troursers Oh this is awful, I did not realise they were gentle creatures I have always been terrified of them. For me, it was a fearsome tiger. I have just been in there and it is on the floor in the corner I think I must have hurt it with the steam from the iron. I will go and put it in the garden, thanks. |

........... | That's as maybe but I wouldn't want one up my trouser leg!
