I have tentatively identified this weevil as Otiorhynchus porcatus, can anyone confirm this id? |

there is only a small number of Weevils of the genus Otiorhynchus that can be identified by a photo. You are lucky it's possible in this case and you are lucky, too, you are right in your identification.

| not generally. In some you have to, but most of all it is enough to see several parts in magnification. If you have a good camera it is possible in photos, too, but you have to take a series of photos out of different perspektives.
Some Otiorhynchus are without male. In these cases you sometimes need the spermatheka to identify.
