| | | Identify my bug please Hi guys i have found this bug in my garden and cannot find anything like it in the local libarys and wondered if any one could tell me what it is i have got pictures but dont know how to make the file size smaller so i can upload them so i can either email them or if some one can tell me how to make the image size smaller then i will post them....
Basically it is like a miniture armidllo with a large spike/horn at its rear it has 2 legs per side and is brown in colour from its head to the tip of its spike it is about 2.3cm or about an inch judging by its leg shape i would guess it is a jumping insect but to be honest i am not sure. if you want pictures my email is jonpaulparker@btinternet.com and i will send them (i have three) the insect is dead so i do have it in a container in my house...... |

| | | Re: Identify my bug please Try a bush cricket, although I've never heard them described as miniature armadillos before... |

| | | Re: Identify my bug please If you can resize the photos to approx 1000 pixels wide by 96 pixels per inch and save as a Jpeg (say 80% quality) then Upload them, it would help. Go to the Gallery and click Upload Images then follow the instructions for Forum Images (blue).

All insects have 6 legs (3 pairs) but they can sometimes lose legs.
A cricket is a possible answer. Could the large jumping hind legs have been overlooked as not actual legs? | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
