Earwigs in bird-feeders
I gave my 7 garden bird-feeders a thorough clean-out today, in preparation for the Winter, and was surprised to find 53 earwigs comfortably ensconced. Most were tucked up in the caps, but there were quite a few amongst the peanuts in my one peanut-feeder. Think this has to be a personal best.

It is amazing how many of these little critters there are out there.
I had to remove a dozen or so laminated posters attached to trees. Under each poster, nestled into the bark I found large numbers of earwigs as well as a few other inverts. Unfortunately I didn't count them but would estimate close to one hundred earwigs.
