Fresh-looking bee for ID if poss

While out taking shots of Colletes hederae on the ivy (first pic below) I noticed paler-looking bees resting nearby on a phormium - similarly fresh-looking - and I wondered if anyone could shed some light please?

Looks to me like a slightly faded male Colletes, which at this time of the year probably means C.hederae . C.succinctus was out about a month ago so would be much more tatty than this by now. The males come out a week or 2 before the females, so they have had a bit more weathering than the nice fresh looking females.
