Large hoverfly for id please

One of these on our ivy flowers, is it our old friend Volucella zonaria
? Not easy to photo as it was almost constantly on the move, somwhere near 20-25mm long.

Seen quite a few about recently, must be a nest nearby.

Hornets are normally quite placid unless you deliberate provoke them.

At this time of the year, I find those 'dopey' wasps are the most dangerous.
