| | | Re: Bug for ID please It's a Western Conifer Seed Bug - Leptoglossus occidentalis. This species has only recently arrived in the UK, they're native to the USA but were introduced in to Europe and have since spread to the UK, so far most have been recorded near the south coast. It seems to have been a good year for them, I've seen a number of reports recently although I haven't found one myself yet!

I think they may be causing some problems where they've been introduced in Europe, but at the moment they are present in such small numbers in the UK that you don't need to worry about your conifers

Could you pm me the exact record details, date, location etc as I am now the national recorder for this group of insects.
