| | | Re: Orange coloured fly If its like this one then it could be a Sciomyzid fly (thanks to oxycera for that one - again )
It looks similar but I bet I'm totally wrong

| | | Re: Orange coloured fly Well if someone knows the answer, I have a similar fly in my unidentified files.
Originally, I thought Phaonia but I think the leg colours are too orange for that.
I'm sure this question has been asked previously, but I can't remember the answer. |

| | | Re: Orange coloured fly Bruce,
You might remember last year or thereabouts having a similar fly to one I had which was identified on diptera.info as a female Meiosimyza rorida. The defining character was a row of short setulae on the inner side of the front femora.
This looks like a male Meiosimyza rorida

| | | Re: Orange coloured fly Thank you for your interest and helpful comments everyone - much appreciated .
Cheers Jules! Looks like Shenk1's fly has sunk a few Tangos too . Janet - Wow you have a good memory! Now that you've mentioned it I do remember the thread, the image was a gravid female and it generated a lot of discussion as I recall:
This could also be the thread you were thinking of Geoff?
Yes a male Meiosimyza rorida looks good.
