Hi, heres my problem.
I've recently moved to a new place, with some woodland in the garden about 30 feet from the house so naturally i get some bugs, mostly spiders. but i had quite a scare last night.
A few months ago i woke up during the summer to discover my bed, near the window had on the wall these tiny bugs, blacky-brown white whitish yellow stripes, no matter how many i got off the wall, more would appear.
After a few weeks they just disappeared.
Now go to yesterday and i was about to turn in for the night and notice something on my bed.
upon closer inspection it was small bugs, something similar but smaller. tiny black-brown larvae with whitish horizontal stripes going across there backs, though the smaller ones were a pale white with almost a skirt of hairy follicles or legs around them. they appeared very slow with hardly any movement at all.
i turned over my mattress to find a hole all the way through! and the large pile of stuff from the move i stuffed under my bed was teeming with them!
naturally i removed the mattress and took it to a tip, cleaned all the stuff out the room and hoovered everywhere.
Today i bought a new mattress and have encountered only 7 of them. 4 around the bed and 3 across the house in the tiled bathroom.
ive checked online and think they sound like cartped beetle larvae, the only other info i have is these things seem to shed. i though t i saw a number of dead tiny white spiders but they were shed husks of these things.
things to note is that they seemed attracted to books and paper but avoided plastic.
-also about 6 years ago i remember my mothers cereal cupboard practically overnight filled with something identical, and we found those tiny brown buggers on books and furniture for months afterwards.
i'm not to worried after going from hundreds to 7 after cleaning, and its probably my fault for letting things slide instead of cleaning earlier but does anyone else know what these are and have experience with them? are they the same bugs and these ones had been under my bed instead of next to it?
i have a massive phobia of bugs like this so any help will be incredibly comforting.
-i should also note i get moths ALL the time, many different breeds, and sizes.
