| | | Re: Bug ID Please ? Hi Galeus,
This is a Western Conifer Seed Bug - Leptoglossus occidentalis. They're native to the USA but have recently arrived in this country after being introduced to Europe. Out of interest which area of the country are you in? Most records so far have been near the South coast. I'm sure this sighting will be of interest, hopefully someone will be able to direct you towards the right person to inform.

| | | Re: Bug ID Please ? That fits - the past couple of autumns there have been influxes of them flying across the Channel, as well as artificial introductions all over the country. They often enter buildings looking for places to hibernate, and are strongly attracted to light. Sussex has been one of the hotspots! I'm jealous. Apparently they are in Yorkshire now, but I've not seen one in the wild yet.
