any one recognise this. found on the beach at cornwall. Quite small, thats sand in the container not stones.

It looks like a member of the Histeridae, I'm not sure how easy it is to identify the species though.

Hello everybody,
my first thought was Carcinops pumilio, but I'm everything but sure. Can you remember the size of the beetle?

I'm still not sure, but I think it is Carcinops pumilio. It looks a bit strange, but maybe because of the perspective the pictures were taken of.
