And those pale yellow abdomen spots have turned rather orange due to the 'lack of movement' I suppose.
That certainly does appear to be the most likely ID.
ps. For a couple of minutes I was taken in by the lack of wing outer cross veins and did start to think that it couldn't be a hoverfly after all. Then I realised that the wing tip was missing! |
