| | | Grasshopper, ladybird and monster for ID Hi,
I found these at Rainham Marsh today. I have attempted to ID the grasshopper and ladybird, but the monsterthing is... well, a monster.
Dociostaurus maroccanus?
Hareqluin?
Monster!!! Found immobile on the side of the boardwalk.
Thanks for looking. |

| | | Re: Grasshopper, ladybird and monster for ID Your monster is a ladybird pupa. Sometimes they aren'tcompletely moble and flick upright. |

| | | Re: Grasshopper, ladybird and monster for ID I would have said that the grasshopper is a Field Grasshopper - Chorthippus brunneus.
But I am willing to be corrected by one of the experts. |

| | | Re: Grasshopper, ladybird and monster for ID Thanks, guys. I thought the grashopper was D maroccanus because of the x-type mark, but I se field grasshoppers can have those too. Oops. |

| | | Re: Grasshopper, ladybird and monster for ID Oops. I should keep in mind that when a book is titled "Insects of Britain and Western Europe", sometimes the insects in it are from "Western Europe," not "Britain." | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
