| | | Re: Grasshopper identification please The Meadow is a male as the females are much bulkier with much stumpier (usually- there is a long winged form but isn't common) wings.
I can't see the rear end of the abdomen of the Field Grasshopper to sex it (grasshoppers are usually bit trickier than bush-crickets where the female is obvious with a conspicuous ovipositor).
Field Grasshoppers can be extremely variable in clour. your photo shows the commonest type but can vary from green through bright pink to blackish.
Best identified by the strongly divergent keels, wings extending past knees + hairy under the thorax (not visible in your phot).
