Thank you | It's definately a ceven spot ladybird. The common one not the rare one. Coccinella 7 punctua, very common seven spot ladybird. |

I assume ILN is referring to the Scarce Seven-spot Ladybird, which is a lot more elusive and associated with Wood Ants/nests.

Take care, Jason  | Good morning Jason. Thanks for your info  . Thats one hell of an association but I guess if flies, butterflies, aphids etc can have ants as friends then why not the humble ladybird

I do not live too far away and there is a lot of heathland at the A3/M25 junction area. I might take a trip up there to see if I can spot these. What special characteristics should I look out for?
