I think the first one is Episyrphus Balteatus, the next 2 photos of same hover fly, I think is also an Episyrphus but the markings are darker/faded, does that denote an older hover fly or just different?!

| | | Re: New hover flies for ID Please! Dark forms do occasionally occur. Usually early or late in the season, although I did see a mid summer specimen this year.
The colouration on that fly is a bit different to those that I have previously seen but offhand I can't think of any credible alternatives.
So unless anybody else has any suggestions I would say it is a dark form of E. balteatus. |

Yes, Episyrphus balteatus certainly. The colour varies on the abdomen, a more key-point is the three subtle white lines on the thorax.
