| | | Selection of flies from my unidentified file It has been raining all day so I have started sorting through my unidentifield files.
And to begin with, a few flies. I have tentative suggestions for some; while I am totally confused by others. So any suggestions would be welcome.

28/05/10. I was thinking Sarcophagidae species but I'm not at all certain of that.

Alternative angle. I was considering Asilidae or Sciomyzidae family here but I can't immediately recognise anything suitable.
Another fly from 31/08/10
I think that will probably do for now. As I have been getting somewhat lost while sorting through these images, and attempting to paste them here in the right order, it is quite possible that I have put something in the wrong order or shown the same image twice, etc. If so, I will try to correct later.

2. Maybe Muscina but I would have to check further

| | | Re: Selection of flies from my unidentified file 5 and 6 are a female Dilophus febrilis (Bibionidae).
7 is one of the Delia species with long hairs on the sides of the abdomen c/f criniventris (Anthomyiidae). |

| | | Re: Selection of flies from my unidentified file Many thanks for sorting those.
I had very tentatively thought about one of the Anthomyia species for #1 but I was far from convinced and didn't have any idea about the remainder.
I will start another post with a couple more flies for checking but hopefully I think I might have done a little better with these. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
