| | | Cockroaches against MRSA Cockroaches could help fight deadly infections, say UK scientists | Herald Sun
Well cockroaches to fight deadly infections, lets just hope it is as promising as it sounds but is early days. Fingers crossed, I know they're a brainy lot in Nottingham.

| | | Re: Cockroaches against MRSA I've always thought everything was put on earth for a reason and we, as the so called superior race, should look to nature to heal our woes. After all, who would have thought a few years ago that maggots would be used for wound cleaning and leeches for restoring blood-flow in re-attached limbs! |

| | | Re: Cockroaches against MRSA I reckon it's a good job it was a cockroach and not something cute and cuddly. I don't think the research would have been quite as "agreeable" if it was.

| | | Re: Cockroaches against MRSA Well I never. I wrote to the hospital authoriTies ages ago when they were asking for ideas on fighting these infections and suggested that the British Hospital cockroach which is Not the American one, should be encouraged because it fights infection.
I remembered when I was in hospital as a child, and allowed to bath myself for the first time, seing something run across the floor and looking under the bath. There were thousands of cockroaches there, beautiful little insects with shining wing cases that sloped down to either side so that when they turned the light caught them. the effect was like that of a little moving sparkling galaxy under the bath. Does anyone know the species of this lovely dainty little cockroach? |
