| | | My First Hornet! I've never seen a Hornet before & last night there 2 in the Moth Trap!! 
Gave us quite a shock I can tell you!!
I never realised just how huge these things are & the droning sound they make is quite incredible, especially when being echoed round a wooden trap!

The shocker was that there were 2!
Typical, just like number 7 bus!!
The pics of the side of the trap was one & on the egg box was the other.
Scary thing is, makes me think there might be a nest near by!

| | | Re: My First Hornet! Seen a couple before and they are huge! Thought i found a hornet in the garden the other day, but turned out to be a median wasp queen.
Hornets are supposed to be much less agressive than other wasps, so i wouldnt worry too much about a nest nearby, unless it is REALLY nearby |
