You have the more common Seven-spot ladybird Coccinella 7-punctua. |

If it's got bigger spots it could also be Coccinella magnifica, but C. septempunctata sometimes has got bigger spots, too. To keep them appart you need to see the downside at the side at the border of the Thorax (I don't know what it is called in english, I know it as "Epipleuren"). If the white parts are not just a small spot in the front vertex, but of bigger size like 1/3 of the border parts it is C. magnifica.
C. magnifica is a species of dry sandy places and in central Europe mostly found in heath, whereas C. septempunctata is found almost everywhere.

| Why is it interesting for you? didn't know it, or do you remember it the other way round (could be I did it the wrong way, because I sometimes do  - didn't check yet) or are there any questions?
