Median wasp drone ?
Spotted this wasp yesterday - assume it's a median wasp and wondered if it was a drone- did not look big enough for a queen.

Evening Brian,

Correct - Median Wasp, Dolichovespula media. I'm unaware of the method used in distinguishing the hierarchical members, but I'm sure Stuart will be along to answer that!

Great pic Brian!

The yellow ocular sinus shows up really well on this pic. The Nike Swoosh on the shoulders is also clear. No doubts at all.
