Very big Bumble Bee
On the south coast yesterday (29th Aug) we saw an enormous Bumble Bee. It had a very dark body. It landed on our picnic and we had to gently move it on.
Can anybody give me a name please?

Did you see if it had any colour on the tail at all?

Bombus terrestris queens can look almost all black, with vey little banding which is sometimes difficult to see. They are also very big.

Apart from that, there are others which could fit but without seeing a pic of it nobody could say for sure.
