| | | ID Help A couple of shield bugs.
#1 looked like it was about to predate some caterpillars.

Might be a Hawthorn or Birch shield bug but didn't get a good shot of the top, don't know if it is possible to narrow it down further

Thanks for having a try, I'll annotate it as "possibly".  | The shape looks good for Gorse Shieldbug, has the yellow margin to the thorax/abdomen + when newly emerged often have some of the almost reddish colour dorsally ( as I noted yesterday when we beat some of these from Gorse in Richmond Park).
