| | | ID please - but no photo Brief description, I require an ID please.
Possible Moth, however not sure. The wings were black and white transparent, with a longish body and a red/orange tip to the body?
Any ideas, I though of a species of Clearwing? |

| | | Re: ID please - but no photo Thanks, I reckon i could be a Welsh Clearwing, but not too sure, I'm new to insects and moths etc.
Are there any other type of insects which resemble Clearwings? |

| | | Re: ID please - but no photo Possibly an Ichneumon was might look similar. Off the top of my head I carnt think of any insects that are really similar to clearwings. Welsh clearings are quite rare and fly between June and July so its unlikely to be one of these. There are only about four species of clearwings on the wing at the moment and these will soon be comming to an end, they dont last much longer than August. Yellow legged clearwing, Red belted clearwing, Red tipped clearwing, six belted clearwing. What was the habitat? | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
