| | | pest symptom hi.
i have a lemon tree in my house.last month i saw symptoms in the stem.i think it is termite but i am not sure.
can any body tell me what is it?and how can i treat it?

| | | Re: pest symptom It looks like a fungal infection to me. The main stem appears to have been sawn off at an angle a couple of years ago and the dead stump has been overtaken by new growth from lower down. There are also a couple of precocious shoots growing from near ground level, again possibly symptomatic of a failing trunk.
If it is an infection, it may have been introduced to the plant via the cut stem.
Is the tree growing in the UK?
The insect you saw was probably co-incidental. |

| | | Re: pest symptom It certainly won't do any harm to try a topical Bordeaux treatment. Go for it.
I suspect the infection is now deep rooted, possibly too deep for the treatment. A systemic fungicide may help.
