What is this insect?
Found this insect dead in the window of our florist shop. It could be British but could also be from abroad, brought in with flowers.

Any ideas??

Hi and welcome to the site!
Your insect looks like a Sawfly of some kind, such as Sirex noctilio. There may well be a number of similar species though so I'll leave it to someone else to confirm.

I would have said it was an ichneumon wasp of some sort. Further than that, I'll leave to the experts.
