Wasp ID please
This was on the ground by a coniferous forest and landed on my foot, before flying off.

Apologies for the poor quality of the image. It must have been at least 5 cm long with a point tail (sting?)

It's a harmless Giant Horntail, Urocerus gigas - well-known from Conifereous habitats.

In my sheltered life, I'd never seen one before!

and I see the long "stinger" was an ovipositor...
