Hoverfly or Wasp? ID please
Hi everyone,

just noticed this in my garden and was wondering if someone could id it for me please? At first i thought mason wasp but when i got a closer look i noticed its hoverfly like head and wings. If it is a hoverfly it is a very good mimic

It looks like a Conops fly, try googling Conops quadrifasciata for a comparison.

It's a male Conops quadrifasciatus
