| | | bee for id please I have been trying to photograph this for ages-I don't think it is Bombus pascuorum-it is smaller than the others I have seen regularly in the garden-but I suppose it might just be a small worker. I was wondering about Anthophora furcata? It is just over the cm in length and very active.
Any ideas?
Thanks

| | | Re: bee for id please Well knock me down with a feather, Eucera. I wasn't thinking along those lines at all. I guess it is a faded specimen, quite pale compared to the Queen I posted earlier in the summer. I have other images but nothing great. The tail is greyish and it was small-smaller than the B. pascuorums and the B. lapidarius males feeding near it. I can't find any size references from a quick search on the internet. I guess that reflects the variabiltiy of bee sizes even within a species.
