Female V. inanis - uniform yellow bands on abdomen.
The width of the gap between the eyes of both female inanis and zonaria can also be used in seperation according to my studies; the ocelli would fit about five times between the eyes in zonaria, and about three times in inanis as you should see here. The males of course lack the long yellow band running between the eyes, instead they touch centrally as do a lot of Syrphids.
It looks to have been quite a productive day for you!
