Hello all - this one is a new one for me. It was quite small, maybe around 10/12mm in length - anybody know what it is??   |

It looks like a brown lacewing, although the head looks a bit strange. I know you like taking pics of insects with strange looking heads!

It's one of the Brown Lacewings. I'm not sure whether it will be possible to identify to species level but someone might manage it!

If it helps anyone, here's mine. The pic enlarges again showing the wing venation which looks the same. I could turn the pic on it's side to make it easier.
This is one I have regularly, it was on the back door on a dull day but I sometimes see one at night attracted to the light, always on the door or frame.
